The creators of D.O.G. were inspired to document this phenomenon in photographs and drawings, and had the idea to open a competition to visual artists, and illustrators to create their own variation on the theme.

The competition required 3 images – a DOG, an OWNER, and a matching ACCESSORY or OBJECT, which linked the two.
